Beaubon is a restaurant guide, in the form of an iPhone app. This page explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with and how to exercise your rights.
Data controller
Paul Planchon, reachable at paul@planchon.io.
The data we collect
Your account
- The identifier Sign in with Apple gives you and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address (possibly hidden by Apple).
- The places you keep on your “À tester” (to try) list and the date your account was created.
Legal basis: performance of the contract between you and Beaubon (the terms of use).
Notifications
If you allow them, we keep your iPhone’s notification token to tell you what’s new in the guide. You can turn them off at any time in iOS settings.
Usage measurement
We measure a few key steps in the app (such as signing in) to understand what works. These events are linked to your account. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the service.
Security
Our servers keep technical logs. They are used only to keep the service secure.
Beaubon sells no data, shows no ads and does not track you across other apps or websites. This policy will be updated before any feature that collects other data arrives, such as photos or location.
Who we share it with
Only with the providers that run the service, for that purpose:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, notifications, payments.
- Railway: hosting our servers and database.
- PostHog: usage measurement.
- Mapbox: displaying the map. Your phone requests the map tiles from it.
- Vercel: hosting this website.
Some of these providers are located in the United States. These transfers are covered by the Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account and your profile: as long as your account exists. They are erased within 30 days of its deletion.
- Technical logs: a few weeks at most.
Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, erase it, get a copy in a readable format, object to its processing or restrict its use, and give instructions on what happens to it after your death. Write to us at paul@planchon.io from your account’s email address. We reply within one month. The support page explains how to delete your account.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
Minimum age
Beaubon is for people aged 18 and over.
